Sanyasi Revolt (1763-1880) Causes :
1. Famine of 1770
2. Harsh Economic order of British
Originally peasants evicted from the land, Sanyasi from Eastern India raided Company's Factories, treasuries and fought against companies forces.
Equal Participation of Hindus and Muslims was seen in the revolt
Leaders like Chirag Ali, Majnu Shah, Debi Chaudhurani participated in the revolt.
Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's Novel Anandamath is based on this revolt.
The revolt was suppressed by Warren Hastings
